Based in Los Angeles, AVA LAUREN GRAYSON is a romantically whimsical writer/director/creator focusing on Young Adult storytelling and filmmaking from a female gaze. Award-winning director, Grayson graduated from ArtCenter College of Design’s Undergraduate Film program with Distinction. She currently works as a writer and freelance filmmaker and has started her own commercial production company, Hip Librarian Productions. Grayson is proud to have worked on over sixty films, including three features, award-winning indie shorts, and a Columbia Records music video, and she recently directed a historical drama short film, Elmstone, with an all-female and non-binary cast and crew! She has worked with notable brands such as Cuyana, Libertine, and Lentement Studio.

As a writer, Grayson has had four stories published by Havok Publishing, was published in the Crowns: A Heartbrooks Anthology by Quill and Flame Publishing House in December 2023, the Once Upon a Valentine’s Anthology from Azala Press in February 2024, and the Creatures, Crowns, and Curses Anthology from Quill and Flame Publishing House in October 2024. Grayson recently signed a two-book deal with Quill and Flame Publishing House for her debut YA space fantasy duology.

With a background in fashion and costume design, Grayson has a youthful retro flair to her visual art, photography, and creative direction. All of her work promotes female strength, power, and boldness. Grayson is passionate about blending fantasy with historical comedy, writing kick-butt female heroines, and making you enjoy tragic romances. If she's not writing or directing, you can probably find her rewatching Lord of the Rings, getting a tattoo, or feeding her cat. :3
